Quiet....

Kale walked across the top of the steps. It seemed quiet,for a place like this. New recruits haven't come for a while,and the SSS was getting desperate. His dark blue eyes shone black when out of the moonlight,and he seemed worried the Angel might show up. The others were in their dorms. He sighed and sat down.

Pale moonlight shone on a shape lying on the concrete steps. The figure had bright red hair, sprawled on the cement, and she looked so peaceful that she could have easily been mistaken for a dead body. That is, until she blinked her brownish hazel eyes open. "Ow..." She moaned, pressing one hand to her temple. Her mind was filled with a dense fog, no memories available. She had a headache as well... had she fallen asleep on the concrete and hit her head? Pushing herself so that she was sitting up, she frowned. 'Where is this?' She wondered. Then, she turned to see a boy sitting a few paces ahead of her. "Hello?"

Kale's eyes widened as he heard a voice. It must be someone he could recruit. It didn't sound like the Angel. He turned around. "Greetings." he smiled warmly,only to see a figure in the clearing of the steps. He quickly took out an assault rifle and aimed it at the figure. It indeed was the Angel...

The girl was about to reply when the boy pulled out an assult rifle, an M16, by the looks of it. Her eyes widened. "What's that for?" She studied the weapon with a look of admiration, but was still a bit confused and slightly afraid as to why he might need it. "Are we under attack?" She gulped.

Kale frowned,still aiming the rifle. "Do you know where you are?" he asked. He was right on target. Nothing could ruin this shot....

Kale turned to her. "You are in the world before reincarnation or the afterlife. The middle of the end as I call it." he said,refocusing the aim.

"That is a wonder for all." Kale admitted. "But if you do not rebel,you will most likely be reincarnated,and could become even something like a water flea."

"A water flea!" She exclaimed. 'Well, I certainly don't want to be that!' So she swallowed and stood up to stand beside the boy. "What's your name, anyways?" She narrowed her eyes to try to see what he was aiming at; it was a girl! "And why are you aiming at her?" She frowned. The girl looked rather harmless and oblivious.

"Kale" the boy answered. "And that it our enemy."

"Our enemy?" Boy, did she feel stupid for asking all these questions! But she still couldn't figure out why her mind was so clouded. She couldn't remember anything. "What did she do? She looks harmless to me..." The redhead frowned. This was all too confusing.

"That is it. She is completely emotionless. Now stay behind me and don't get in the way." Kale said impatiently, loading his gun.

She took a step back. "Okay..." She frowned. 'What is with this "afterlife"?' She wondered, half in fear and frustration, but partially iin awe.

"Some call it heaven." Kale said. "This just prepares you. But it is rare you are accepted there." He then shooed her back with his hand. All was silent.Then suddenly,a loud crack was heard. Kale had shoot the girl in her leg. She fell to the ground,but their was no pain in her eyes. Her gaze was emotionless. "Run!" Kale yelled and grabbed the young girl by the hand. He lead her inside the school building.

"Accepte- Woah!" She shouted as a loud crack rang and Kale grabbed her hand, pulling her into the nearby building. She stared at him in surprise. This was such a confusing place!

Kale quickly lead her up into a room. The sign on the front red Principal's Office. He pulled th egirl in before a giant hammer swung at the doorway. A couple of people looked up at the newcomer.

Her long red hair streamed out behind her as she allowed herself to be lead into a room upstairs. A giant hammer at the doorway nearly rammed into her; that would have sent her flying out the window! "Kale?" She whispered. "Since this is the afterlife... can I still die here?" She noticed the people staring at her and shifted her feet uncomfortably.

Kale shook his head. "No,but you can feel the pain." he said. "You will be fine in several minutes basically"

She shivered. "That sounds horrible." She shot a glance at the other people in the room. "Who are they, Kale-san?" She murmured in Kale's ear.

"Konichiwa." She greeted them with a pasted-on smile. She couldn't remember the last time she'd stood before a crowd. She couldn't remember anything!

Kale sat at his desk. He closed his eyes and grinned. "The Angel is getting more calm it seems." he reported. "Like she does not think we will attack." He kept one eye open,one eye closed. Members shouted ideas. But one member spoke loudly. "Who is that?"

The girl watched as Kale's followers shouted possible solutions. When one of them called out, "Who is that?" She figured they must mean her. "Oh, um, I'm... I'm..." She frowned. 'What is my name?' She thought frantically. The fog in her mind parted slightly to reveal it. "I'm Seika Kiyoko." She finished. "Pleased to meet you."
